Breeders are crucial to the success of SVF’s mission and the preservation of rare breeds of livestock. The information we collect about your animals and the strains or pedigrees of these breeds is equally as important as the genetic material preserved. Once the preliminary decision is made to include animals from your flock/herd we ask that you assist us in gathering information. SVF always welcomes the opportunity to talk with breeders about their animals and farms however for convenience we have set up the following links to our questionnaires. The questionnaires may be filled out and submitted online, printed and mailed or faxed to SVF. (See "Contact Us" for our mailing address and fax number.) Alternatively, we are more than happy to fill out the information with you. | Participation Guidelines (Print PDF) These are general guidelines designed to help breeders understand SVF’s procedures in regards to health testing (including payment), identification and transport of animals. | | Breeder and Farm Questionnaire (submit online) or (Print PDF) General farm, flock and herd information. | | Animal Questionnaire (submit online) or (Print PDF) Individual animal health, husbandry and pedigree information. | | Veterinary Testing Requirements (Print PDF) For biosecurity reasons, SVF requires testing above and beyond that required for interstate transport of animals. | | Herd Health Program at SVF Foundation (Print PDF) Once at SVF animals are maintained to an exceptionally high standard by qualified herdspeople and veterinarians from Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tuffs University. | | Semen Collection We collaborate with breeders for the collection of bovine semen offsite.
