SVF Foundation provides an ideal employment opportunity for those seeking to use their skills in various capacities. The staff here takes pride in fulfilling a very important agricultural mission while at the same time maintaining the property as a historical estate.

SVF Foundation has brought together an extremely skilled group of scientists which collaborate to fulfill our mission.

SVF’s full-time Embryologist processes each genetic sample while also maintaining the germplasm database and SVF’s cryogenic library. Several herstaff care for animals on the farm and work in conjunction with Tufts to obtain germplasm samples.

The herd staff also oversees biosecuirty and transports animals to and from SVF.

There are several administrative personnel who run the office and organize all of the efforts involved in maintaining a non profit organization and historical estate.

SVF employs three individuals who work in our cabinet and facilities shop. Their diverse background enables them to handle tasks from maintenance of our numerous buildings, modifications to lab equipment, livestock pens, trailers for animal transport and trouble shooting of alarms.

A recent project our Facilities Manager designed and fabricated was a sophisticated method of staging canisters in liquid nitrogen, allowing more efficient storage practices for the germplasm SVF stores.

SVF Foundation\'s Grounds Team

SVF grounds team maintain our site while handling the numerous tasks associated with biosecurity, landscaping and material handling - be it tractor trailer loads of hay or management of manure. Staff meticulously maintain the grounds while working to preserve the property’s native wetland habitat and ponds.

Our horticulturist focuses on aesthetics such as tree work in the orchard and garden designing in addition to bee keeping and maintenance of machinery. The backhoe driver works on construction projects in and out of his machine by transporting heavy supplies, creating new roads, and repairing stone walls.

Dakota - SVF Foundation\'s Trained Border Collie

Dakota, a professionally trained border collie, has joined the livestock team. He partners with the herdsstaff to move groups of livestock from one pasture or pen to another. View movie of Dakota working.
